An Organized and Stress Free Christmas

Let me start by telling you that I am a wife, mom, full time business owner selling Christian products, a student with lots of homework and volunteer for many projects at church and in the community. If anyone is busy, I know that I am. I don't claim to be an expert, but I do claim that over the years I have been able to enjoy each and every Christmas stress free. So, I am writing this article for everyone who finds that they are unorganized and feeling stressed at Christmas time. I want to help you get organized and stress free so that you can enjoy Christmas every year. So many of my friends and family have made me realize that the little things I do all year long have given me an advantage over the holiday rush and I am able to enjoy all that Christmas has to offer

Let's start with the basics.

1. Buy your Christmas cards and wrapping paper at the end of the Christmas season. That way you have these things on hand when you have the time to work on them. I send out over 150 cards a year (I use an address labeling program and update it each year, so I just have to hit the print button when I am ready to send out my cards), we give numerous gifts to family and friends and these things I have completed before Thanksgiving.

2. When you see a sale, buy your gifts and collectibles. This month alone I have bought sixteen gifts for next year. I have a year to wrap them and gift tag them. Focus on one or two families on your list each month, then check off their name when you have purchased their gift. Use lay away when you can and continue to add items as you take items off of lay away. As you take them home remember to wrap them and gift tag them, then store them. I have two shelves I dedicate to Christmas gifts for storage.

After Thanksgiving, I decorate the house with my Christmas decor. By December my tree is up, my presents are under the tree, my cards and gifts are mailed and I am relaxing. As a Christian I am now focusing on the true meaning of Christmas and busy directing our church Christmas programs, spending quality time with my family and loving each and every moment of giving, sharing and love of the season.
We received a great gift this year that anyone would love. Our Christmas dinner has been given to us and there is no cooking. Another day of relaxing, that's what I'm talking about.

Starting this Monday, my family is off for two weeks and we will start visiting family and friends, taking day trips to the snow and to the beach and just plain relaxing before the new year begins.

If I can do this, I know that each and everyone that reads this can do it also.

Negative Thinking Versus Positive Thinking

My heart has compelled me to write down my feelings on the negative response we are hearing from the media and the political arena every day, every minute of the day. Why does news have to be bad all the time? It is so easy today to be negative and speak doom and gloom to everyone all of the time. Now it is being said that we live in an area that has the second highest rate of unemployment in the country. Businesses are closing their doors, schools are closing, the state is bankrupt. What about the good news? There are things happening everyday that deserve to be praised and honored. You never hear any of it, at least not on the news.

Having a Christian background, I have refused to be pulled in to all the negative garbage and choose to focus on all the positive things in my life. I choose to build up my faith in God and let His will be done in my life, not my will or mans will to take hold of my thoughts or feelings. Yes, I am being affected by what is going on in the world and yes my heart breaks for so many that have lost their jobs, homes, future and hope. I too have lost a job, income, medical benefits, retirement, etc. I choose to look at it as, a job is what I do and not who I am. I am so much more than any job I could have. God's word tells me, "My God shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus." He didn't say some of my needs, He said all of my needs. What a gift! That includes paying my mortgage payments, food, gas, bills, clothes, etc. Luke 12:22-23, says: He said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat, or about your body, what you will wear. Life is more than food, and the body more than clothing."

This is the time to believe and build on your faith in the One who created you. I look at our daughter Faith and remember from where she came and where she received her name: Hebrews 11:1 "Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen." You see, we were unable to have children and Faith is a gift from God to us. Yes, I am still concerned about her future and the impact that everything that is affecting her and her future, but I trust God and believe in Him to take care of her and my family.

Matthew 6:25-34 is a great scripture for Anxiety. I just want to quote Matthew 6:33-34 "But seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

I could give you so much more, like Death and Life is in the power of the tongue. You get what you speak.

If you have finished reading this article I want you to know that there is hope and we need to count our blessings of all the good in our lives and focus on these things. I feel so much better that I have put my feelings in print and have opened up my heart to you. It may seem like preaching, well what can I say, "I AM ONE."

God loves you and He will never leave you or forsake you! Just believe and keep your faith strong, pray and believe you receive when you pray.

Meet Artist, Teacher and Poet Akiane, the Child Prodigy with an Amazing Heart

In this world there are some people who struggle to find their way from a very young age. Most of us fall into that category. Every once in a while, however, someone comes along who has blessed by God with a gift, a soul that seems to see and know things beyond their years. This is the story of Akiane Kramarik, a young woman with an amazing gift.

"I teach and they run away," says young Akiane. "I listen and they come. My strength is my silence."

For a child of nine to understand the perfection to be found in silence is almost unheard of, but young Akiane has never been ordinary. Born July 9, 1994 in Mount Morris, Illinois to her Lithuanian mother and American father, at the age of three Akiane had a spiritual awakening that not only opened her eyes to the Lord but brought her family to God as well. Her mother was an Atheist, her father a former Catholic. Neither had exposed Akiane to the Bible, but at a young age she took her parents by surprise when she began to speak about the Lord.
"It all began to happen when she started to share her dreams and visions," says her mother, Forelli Kramarik. "It wasn't just art that was happening. Simultaneous with art was a spiritual awakening."

This was the year she began to draw, teaching herself the various intricacies of the artistic style she's affectionately dubbed "Akianism." Her artistic gifts would later spread into painting at the tender age of six.

Now, as a teenager, Akiane speaks four languages fluently (Lithuanian, Russian, English and Sign Language) and rises at four in the morning to work on the paintings inspired by her visions, dreams, personal observations, nature and God and the poetry she says often comes to her fully conceived.

Many children her age would use their gifts to their own advantage, paving the way to conceit and the eventual evolution of a teenaged diva. Despite, or perhaps because of, her success Akiane has continued to keep her eyes fixed firmly on the Lord. Her paintings are, she says, given to her by God in her dreams.

"I can hear His voice," says the young woman firmly. "His voice is quiet and beautiful."

Akiane hopes to use the proceeds of her paintings to help the needy children of Africa, Lithuania and many other third world countries.
"I really want to help needy people in Africa and other places, especially the Lithuanian people-the 'garbage children' is what they are called. They live in the garbage, and two and three year olds are being killed for the first place in the food line," she says. "Lithuania has the highest suicide rate in the world. They need help with food and medicine, and a free hospital. I really want to build a free hospital for them."
Akiane adds, "I have been blessed by God. And if I'm blessed there is one reason and one reason only, and that is to help others."
Akiane was recently featured on BlogTalk Radio, and her newest works can be found in the Elijah Seasons 2009 calendar and in galleries all over the world. As her talent and her relationship with God continue to grow the world waits with bated breath to find out what this amazing young woman will have to share next.

Just a Blog! Wanted to let everyone know that our daughter's softball team has won the championship undefeated.

Yeah!

This has been a very busy time for us with all the practices and games this season. Our daughter's team "The Hawks" consisting of sixth, seventh and eighth graders came out champions.

There has been many challenges, especially the one game where the umpire turned out to be uncertified and couldn't make up her mind whether her first call as safe was really an out. Of course, the other team had a seventeen uncertified umpire making some really bad judgment calls. First she would say our girl was safe then the opposing coach would say no out and the umpire would change her mind.

Parents and coaches got into heated arguments and at one point we thought that there may be some fists flying, but they didn't. When it came time for that team to play our girls the last time there were two certified umpires scheduled to be on campus for the final game. Of course, that team forfeited the last game to be played against our team. I wonder why? Nay, we know why! Giving our girls an undefeated title.

Again Yeah! Go Hawks!

Remembering Mom on Mother's Day

Mother's Day is just around the corner. May 10th to be exact. As I worked on providing our customers with a special sale this week, you know picking out items that Mom may enjoy getting. I came across the Akiane Art Print, "Mother's Love," I was reminded of Mary's love for her son Jesus and her sacrifice along with His.

I was also reminded of how much I love my daughter. How deep a love a Mom has for her child.

I was also reminded how deep a love a child has for their Mom. I was constantly reminded of what I had lost this past year. My mother passed away in July and in the holidays to follow, (her birthday, Thanksgiving, my birthday in December, Christmas and now Mother's Day), grief is a very hard process to deal with. Yet, once again I face another hard day ahead on Mother's Day without my Mom. I miss her very much!

I truly love being a Mom. I will still enjoy the day, but my Mom will be on my mind and in my heart, just as she has been always.

I somehow want to remind everyone to remember their mother on Mother's Day. One day you will be faced with those same hard days that I have faced this last year. Everyone has to leave this earth someday and we do not know the day or the hour. So, if your Mom is still celebrating your life with you, celebrate her on Mother's Day. Give her your gift of LOVE!
